Topic

Alberta Economic Outlook – Whats in store for 2018

Presenter:

Todd Hirsch

Presentation Topic:

After the nasty recession of 2015-16, Albertans have been happy to bid farewell to a shrinking economy. Most of the indicators are now suggesting that the province is once again expanding and that jobs are being added. But how much of this is reality, and how much just an illusion? Is the economy recovering in the traditional sense of the word, or is something else quite different happening? What do the data tell us, and what can we expect for Alberta’s economy in 2018 and beyond?

Presenters Bio:

We are absolutely thrilled to host Todd Hirsch, ATB Financials Chief Economist as our Key Note Speaker.  Todd will be speaking on the economic outlook for 2018 and what’s in store for Alberta during this dynamic climate of uncertain oil and an ever changing political landscape.

Todd provides economic commentary for many Canadian media outlets. He has served on the University of Calgary Board of Governors and is the chair of the Calgary Arts Academy. Todd recently received the University of Alberta’s Alumni Honour Award and an honorary degree from Mount Royal University.
